Empowered Growth

Growth for your brain, by your brain

  • It is not uncommon for those struggling with mental health symptoms to feel “broken”, but to resist reaching out for help. Especially common among first responders is a hesitancy to ask for help as they are used to being the ones who rescue.

  • An attractive component of neurofeedback is that it gives first responders agency in their own mental health. Nothing is being done to "fix" them. Their brain is being given feedback on where it can improve, and being incentivized to do so, but it is their brain doing the work and making the changes. Their showing up for training and being engaged in the process is what brings healing. This often renews a feeling of hope that things can change in their lives and creates a strong sense of empowerment.

  • QEEG brain mapping shows where there are unhealthy and unhelpful brainwave patterns. Extensive research demonstrates the correlation between these patterns and mental health symptoms.

First responders are often greatly encouraged when they see what their brain shows in the QEEG. Undesirable symptoms that frequently leave people feeling “broken” or “stuck” show their neurological roots, and the knowledge that these inefficiencies can be trained to normalize often empowers first responders to do the work to improve their wellbeing.
